English Presbyterian Church

He so loved the world that He gave us his son

Who or what is English Presbyterian Church?

In 1822 English Presbyterian was organized with 32 members received from  nearby Donegal Presbyterian Church.( In 1824 the Church was actually incorporated as "English Presbyterian Church.") The name English  chosen to let the surrounding communities know that English as opposed to German was spoken there. In 1854 the building at 133 West Market Street in Marietta, Pennsylvania was built.

This same limestone facade church building is still standing today. As any historic church in a historic community it has long and tenacious roots.  Although membership has fluctuated up and down throughout the years the church family has consistantly striven to find their roll in the community around them.  Currently the church sponsers a Free Breakfast for the Community on the last Saturday of every month. They are the charter home for Cub Scout Pack 150 and home base for several local girl scout troops. We host a  free monthly movie night and a coffee house,The Gathering in Marietta, the second Friday of the month.  Check our happenings page for dates and times and other events.Stop by at any time and say hello.
